Accommodation
Enter the house across an elevated walkway, through the corridor, cloakroom which opens into the light and airy living room, a wood burning stove keeps you cosy in the depths of winter or at the end of a long walk on a dreich day in August. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker and induction hob, fridge/letterbox- freezer and pulley airer above your head, next to the living room through a sliding door is small dressing room with a recessed wardrobe. Ascending the bespoke plywood stairs to the landing you will find a reading space that looks out over the croft to the west, Loch Bracadale and the small islands. The main bedroom with a king- sized bed looks over a banister to the ground floor living room. This unique building provides warmth and simplicity, with classic 50’s sofas, antique crofters dresser and original artwork, wood has been chosen to clad inside and out to afford a natural tranquil atmosphere.
Locality
We reside within a beautiful part of Skye overlooking crofts to Loch Bracadale on the west of Skye. The MacLeod’s Tables and islands are laid out before you in a variety of views from the house. Choose to sit and observe the weather and changing light inside or slide back the door and enter the landscape in a few steps. Many walks are available straight from the door. Discover the Birch and Hazel woods, the burns, sea cliffs and beach close by. Sit a while and become aware of the wildlife. Illusive timid Roe deer, Tawny Owls at dusk, Otters in the early morning, Ravens, Golden Eagles and White tailed Eagles are all nearby.
If you want more challenging walks the Cuillin are easily accessible from Glenbrittle or Sligahan some six miles from the door.
